Exterior appearance is bold and masculine, while not detracting one whit

from the tasteful Olds styling. In other words of one onlooker, it looks real

        "gutsy".

Front appearance is dominated by the massive twin inlet air scoop and a flat

black painted grille; in the rear a functional air spoiler in stanchion-mounted

on the deck lid. The spoiler decreases drag and improves stability and handling

        at higher speeds.

The Cameo White exterior is accented by three wide "Fire Frost" Gold

stripes. The widest of these is applied down the center of the rear deck and

roof, extending in narrower form through the twin hood scoops to the front bumper

and follows the fender line along the belt, terminating in a graceful upward

curve around the quarter window. The other extends along the entire lower edge

         of the body.

All three stripes are given an extra custom appearance by being outlined

with a black, hand-applied pin stripe.

Positive identification for the Hurst/Olds is provided by three H/O emblems,

one each on the front fenders and a third on the rear deck.

Power is delivered through a performance modified Turbo Hydra-Matic and

         Antispin rear axle.

Rear axle ratios are 3.42:1 for non-air conditioned cars and 3.23:1 for

air-conditined cars. An optional 3.91:1 ratio is available only for non-air

          conditioned cars.

To permit automatic operation of the transmission-or punching up through

the gears-a versitile Hurst Dual/Gate shifter is installed in the console.
